The How-To Steps: 1. Shut off the gas supply. 2. Unhook everything from the gas valve. 3. Remove the burner assembly. 4. Remove the thermocouple from the pilot assembly. 5. Install the new thermocouple. 6. Put everything back into its place. 7. Turn on gas supply and check for leaks. It only takes 15-30 minutes to easily complete the replacement operation.
